OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. ZiO-Podolsk OJSC (a branch of Atomenergomash group of companies) has produced and delivered SPPs (moisture separators) for Novovoronezh NPP-2 power unit No. 1 (the general contractor on engineering and construction is Atomenergoproject OJSC, a branch of Rosatom State Corporation).

The SPP package, consisting of separators and super heaters, is supplied to the NPP by parts. From April to May, 2011 the whole package (4 mechanisms) of SPP-1200 for the first power unit will be delivered to Novovoronezh NPP-2.

The construction of Novovoronezh NPP-2 first and second power units is considered to be a starting site for creation of the first commercial power units of the “NPP-2006” project with a reactor of VVER-1200 type in Russia.

NPP-2006 project is the nuclear plant unified project, having the newest achievements of native engineering thought combined. The project meets all the Russian and international safety requirements. The technologies used in NPP-2006 project allow not only increase the service life of the nuclear plant basic equipment up to 60 years, but also improve the safety characteristics and increase the competitive ability in the market of electric power.
