OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. It is learned from Baosteel International Southern Co. that Baosteel battery steel has been successfully applied in the manufacturing of Duracell battery shell, breaking the situation of reliance on imported battery steel, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Duracell, based in Germany, is a subsidiary of P & G, one of the world's top 500 enterprises. It is a global leader in manufacturing and sales of highly efficient alkaline batteries. Currently, Duracell battery shell steel is solely supplied by (Dongguan) Haijin Dumen Metals Products Co., Ltd.. Haijin Dumen Metals Products Co., Ltd. was established in 1995 by the world's largest battery shell manufacturing group - Haijin Dumen Group, and is the steel shell production enterprise in south China with strongest technical strength, with annual production exceeding 1.8 billion. Due to the extremely strict quality requirements of Duracell battery shell, Haijin Dumen Metals Products Co., Ltd.'s battery steel material has been imported from Germany for years.

Baosteel battery steel have good performance record in the southern market. To further promote Baosteel products, last year, Southern Co. Ltd. carried out technical marketing, organized and coordinated technical exchange among Baosteel Co.,Ltd. product development department, thin plate sales department, Baosteel Research Institute, cold-rolled thin plate plant, P&G, Duracell, and Haijin Dumen. Baosteel gets a comprehensive understanding of Duracell battery steel strip's technical requirements and production equipment condition of Haijin Dumen so as to improve Baosteel battery steel production technology and product quality. March this year, Baosteel provides trial material for Duracell battery, which was approved by customer with authentication.
