OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. Wang Weimin, President of MCC Group & Secretary of MCC Limited, met with the visiting delegation from University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) at MCC Building. The delegation was headed by Secretary Luo Weidong of USTB. Both parties conducted friendly discussion on promoting mutual collaboration and common development in the future, reported the press-centre of MCC.

At the outset, Wang Weimin extended a warm welcome to Luo and his delegation members, and gave a brief introduction to the development history, core business, industrial transformation and exploration of new business of MCC Group. Wang mentioned that, under the 3rd-Five-Year Plan of MCC Group, the development quality and competitive strength could not be improved without advancement of scientific technologies and enhancement of technical content. Therefore in addition to the self-excavation of potentials, it would be a must for MCC Group to work with research institutions and colleges/universities such as USTB and undertake cooperation on a wide and in-depth basis in the fields of talent cultivation, R&D and transformation of scientific achievements.

Luo Weidong made a briefing on the teacher resources, discipline structure and thoughts on student cultivation. He put forward a proposal on establishment of a higher-level overall strategic cooperation framework jointly by both parties, as well as 5 pieces of specific recommendations on staff training, combination of teaching and research work, talent exchange/recruitment and scientific R&D. At the conclusion, both Wang and Luo expected that, basing upon the current collaboration, both parties should start to negotiate the content of the overall strategic cooperation and determine the concrete measures, so as to accelerate the mutual cooperation as soon as possible.

The other attendees at the meeting included leaders of USTB’s School of Economics and Management, School of Civil Engineering, Graduate School, Scientific Research Dept. and School of Metallurgical Engineering, as well as concerned chiefs of Human Resources Dept. and Scientific & Technical Development Dept. of MCC Group.
