OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2011. China will impose access res trictions on size of new oil refining facilities in China and also set
a minimum size for coalmines in some coal-producing provinces, said t he National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top econ omic planner.

This move marks the Chinese government's latest efforts o n energy sector integration to improve the production efficiency.

China will limit building of new vacuum distillation unit s (VDU) with capacity of less than 200,800 barrels a day and eliminate.

VDUs with capacity less than 40,000 barrels a day by 2013, said NDRC.

Besides, construction of catalytic cracking and hydro cracking units with capacity of less than 30,000 barrels a day will also be limited.

In addition, China will restrict construction of naphtha- fed ethylene facilities with capacity of less than 800,000 tonnes a ye ar, said NDRC on its website.

Coalmines with production capacity below 1.2 million tonn es a year won't be encouraged to be built in coal-rich Shanxi, Inner M ongolia and Shaanxi provinces, while single mines with capacity of les s than 30,000 tonnes will be shut down.
