OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2011. Ukraine has given Russia strong arguments to reassess the price formula for gas. The Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this at the broadcast of the “Ukraine” TV channel.

"We have shown to the Russians that Ukraine receives gas at the Tymoshenko’s formula much more expensive than Germany, Poland. Is this normal? Is it fits into our strategic partnership? So, arguments that the President set and Government’s arguments are very serious. And in the largest accounts, Russia will have to agree with us", - Mykola Azarov said.

The Head of Government stressed that former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, signing enslaving for Ukraine gas contracts, exceeded its authority and cause to the state a huge loss. "She certainly exceeded her powers. She had no right to give such instructions. And she certainly damage to the country huge losses caused by her actions. For me, for example, there is no doubt at all there", - he accents.

Mykola Azarov stressed that Ukraine will have reached an agreement with Russia to revise the gas price formula exclusively through negotiations without resorting to judicial pressure. "In relations with partners to resort to legal analysis, to lawsuits, I would say the last thing" - the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister informed that according to the recent visit of the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko to Moscow, it was made the first "meaningful results", and after the May holidays, negotiations will continue. "After the holidays we are expected that in response to visit of Yuriy Boyko his counterpart will come to Ukraine. We will not delaying these questions. I believe that with political will, and it is, we find a compromise", - the Head of Government concluded.
