GE Turbines for IES-Holding Passed Factory Tests
OREANDA-NEWS. May 03, 2011. Two General Electric 80MW Frame 6FA gas turbines intended for IES-Holding’s investment project of construction of a new steam-and-gas unit in Berezniki, the Perm Territory, have passed factory tests in France and have been shipped off to Russia. Delivery is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2011.
State-of-the-art, highly efficient Frame 6FA gas turbines are characterized by a much lower fuel consumption in base load operation compared with other mid-capacity equipment, and a high exhaust gas temperature making them an ideal choice for binary steam-and-gas units. There are more than 100 turbines of this type in the world with a total operating time of over three million hours. As part of its cooperation with IES, General Electric will ensure technical support for the equipment, training of Russian personnel and the turbines’ performance testing at the launch of the new energy unit.

“In selecting equipment for investment projects IES gives priority to environment-friendly high-efficiency plants. This is why the new power units are fitted with advanced equipment produced by international and domestic manufacturers. GE turbines are used at three IES’s plants, and we hope for their long and reliable operation”, says CJSC IES First Vice President-Operational Director Andrey Vagner.
