OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2011. Recently, Baoxin Shengyuan Company's Slag Powder Phase 2 Project was put into operation, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Vice president of Baosteel Group Corporation, chairman and Party secretary of Bayi Steel Zhao Xia, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps No.12 agricultural division commander Sheng Yanjiang, etc. attended the commencement ceremony.

Baoxin Shengyuan's slag powder project was invested by Bayi Steel, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps No.12 agricultural division and Bayi Steel Jiayu Co. jointly. The total investment planned for this project is RMB 270 million yuan and the project is constructed in 3 phases, after completion it will finally form the annual capacity to produce 1.8 million tons of slag powder. The project is designed and constructed by Baosteel Engineering Technology Group. Phase 1 project was completed and put into operation in March last year. After Phase 2 project was put into operation, the project can realize the annual capacity to produce 1.2 million tons of slag powder.

After the project reaches the target indexes, it can completely digest the water granulated slag produced during the blast furnace production in Bayi Steel new area, which not only extends Bayi Steel's industrial chain for resources recycling, but also provides guarantee for popularization of new type building material, and the social benefit as well as the economic benefit are both very remarkable.
