OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2011. The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., (BTMU) a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG), and The National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan (NFUAJ) will establish the MUFG NFUAJ East Japan Earthquake Recovery and Scholarship Fund.

The MUFG NFUAJ East Japan Earthquake Recovery and Scholarship Fund will be based in schools, to provide continued emotional and material support to students from elementary school through to high school age, with the aim of contributing to their healthy growth.

The fund will be up to one billion yen in scale, which will be contributed by BTMU. Executives and employees of BTMU and of MUFG group companies will be called upon for donations and volunteer work.

As part of our CSR priority theme of “Nurturing Society’s Next Generation,” BTMU will work to provide medium- to long-term recovery support, by operating 4 different support programs with NFUAJ.
