FBK Took Part in Conference on Russian Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2011. A conference “Russian Industry: Tools to Enhance Competitiveness” arranged by radio station Business FM and internet portal BFM.ru was held in Moscow, reported the press-centre of FBK.
Representatives of business, civil servants and experts discussed prospects of Russian industry in terms of Russia joining the World Trade Organization.
FBK was represented at the forum by Igor Nikolaev, Partner, Director of Strategic Analysis Department, who delivered there a report “Developing Competition and Enhancing Competitiveness”. According to the analyst, the principle tool for enhancing competitiveness is developing competition. So far, according to the index of competitiveness, Russia is in the 63rd position in the world (between Sri Lanka and Uruguay). At the same time, in terms of competition with foreign manufacturers, we are in the second hundred of countries, as a matter of fact.
“The only thing I’m happy about is that throughout the recent years the trend of increasing number of suits which Federal Antimonopoly Service initiates under breaking the competition law is beginning to shape. If we really fight anti-monopoly actions, then the situation with competition will improve – competitiveness of our goods will increase, so will the competitiveness of the whole country”, the expert summed up.
