OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2011. Belarus’ farm output increased 5% on the year in January-March 2011 to 4.9 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee stated.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 4.7% on the year in January-March to 378,200 tonnes, milk output rose 2.9% to 1.467 million tonnes, and egg output went up 8.8% to 883.8 million units.

Sales proceeds increased 40.7% on the year in January-February to 2.62 trillion rubles.

Sales profit rose 260% to 208.5 billion rubles.

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to 344.8 billion rubles in January-February 2011, up 120% on the year.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 9.7% in January-February 2011, up from 3.6% in January-February 2010, and sales margin reached 8%, up from 3.1%

In January-February 2011, farms’ net loss reached 16.8 billion rubles, up 19.8% year-on-year.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 2.28 trillion rubles as of March 1, 2011, 18.3% of all payables.
