Ukraine: Allocation of Exports of Corn Soon Can Be Abolished
OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2011. Experts of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine completed the analysis of the balance of grain. As a result, there are remains of 2 million tons of corn by the end of 2010-2011 marketing year this will abolish quota. With this proposal Ministry of Agriculture and Food has appealed to the Government of Ukraine.
"After reviewing the balance of grain stocks, Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine adopted a collective decision to recommend to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to abolish quotas on exports of corn. By the end of marketing year we have the remains of USD 2 million tons of corn. Quota exports of other crops will be reversed after the end of spring field work and planting season - from July 1” - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine said.
The Minister said that this year the area under corn crops increased to 3 1 million hectares and the whole grain group by 15.5 million hectares.
Thus Mykola Prisyajnyuk stressed that the position Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine to protect the interests of domestic producers of agricultural and provide of food security of citizens of Ukraine remains unchanged and will be crucial in the overall efforts of the Agricultural Ministry and international associations of traders and their representatives.
Between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine, the American Chamber of Commerce and European Business Association it was reached an agreement in accordance with agreed trade rules in the international grain market, based on national interests and needs in food security"- added Mykola Prysyazhnyk.
