OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2011. Lviv, Burshtyn and Dobrotvor have joined the Telemedicine Social Project run jointly by DTEK, MobileTeleSystem (MTS) and the Foundation for Development of Ukraine under supervision of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
 
The project, started in Ukraine by MTS, focused on creation of a telemedicine network across the country in order to improve diagnostics and early detection of diseases as well as costs reduction for healthcare provision.  
 
Residents of Lviv, Lviv region and rural areas will have access to professional medical consultations in oncology and cardiology in time after healthcare facilities will join existing network. In the same time, doctors will be able to hold joint medical consultations, scientific discussions and to share professional experience via video conferencing.
 
Alexander Tolkach, Director for External Affairs of DTEK, says: ‘Telemedicine Project is a part of our social partnership program of DTEK in this region aimed to support and develop social initiatives of Lviv City and Lviv region. We also hope that this project will give our employees, who work in the region’s centers, remote access to high quality medical consulting assistance’.
