OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2011. Net foreign assets of the Belarusian government and National Bank of Belarus (NBB) amounted to USD 2.768 billion as of April 1, 2011, down 22.1% in January-March, the National Bank of Belarus stated.

The increase was due to a decrease in gross foreign assets by 16.8% in January-March to USD 4.517 billion and a 7% reduction in liabilities to USD 1.749 billion as of April 1, 2011.

Net foreign assets placed in hard currency amounted to USD 2.675 billion as of April 1, 2011, while soft currency assets were at the equivalent of USD 93.6 million.

In 2010, Belarus’ net foreign assets decreased 27.6% to USD 3.551 billion.
