UIA Offers New Opportunities for Air Travel
OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2011. During the 2011 summer schedule UIA will enlarge its domestic route network - the airline will operate daily (except Saturday) regular flights to the Dnepropetrovsk city airport previously “closed” to the company. The airline will also recommence flights to Odessa and Simferopol. Thanks to modification of the international flights schedule, UIA will provide convenient connections between domestic flights and all European destinations, reported the press-centre of UIA.
The airline continues to develop the eastern sector - launching flights to the Russian city of Samara and the capital of Kazakhstan Astana, while offering passengers convenient connections with the UIA flights to key destinations in Western Europe and Tel Aviv. The Kiev - Samara flights will be operated 4 times per week starting May 18. Flights between Kiev and Astana will be operated 3 times per week starting April 25. The frequency of flights to Almaty will be increased up to five flights per week.
In summer 2011 UIA also plans to launch regular Kiev - Moscow flights, offering service between the two capitals twice a day.
In the 2011 spring and summer season UIA will continue operating flights to the exotic island of Sri Lanka twice a week. This new visa-free destination is particularly attractive for Ukrainian tourists.
Within the period of the summer schedule UIA will enlarge its European route network with completely new destinations. Having signed the partnership agreement with the major British network carrier - British Midland International (bmi), a Star Alliance member - UIA provides passengers from Ukraine with the opportunity to travel not only to London but also to Edinburgh, the regions of East Midlands (the cities of Derby, Leicester and Nottingham) and Leeds-Bradford, as well as the cities of Birmingham and Manchester.
Compared to last summer, the company will also increase the frequency of regular flights to many European destinations. UIA will offer daily service to Madrid, Tel Aviv and Berlin, and operate 6 flights per week to Milan. Flights to Barcelona, Brussels and Helsinki will be operated 5 times per week, while flights to Geneva and Nice will be operated 4 times per week.
Passengers on charter flights will also enjoy some novelties. UIA will offer service between Kiev and Funchal (Portugal) and Kiev and Agadir (Morocco). It has long become the company’s tradition to widen choices for traveling from the regions of Ukraine. New charter flights will connect Donetsk and Odessa with Barcelona and Heraklion, while the city of Dnepropetrovsk will be linked to Antalya.
UIA offers connecting services from Kiev, Simferopol, Odessa, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk to the Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Chennai (Madras), and Kozhikode via Abu Dhabi.
