FHI Announces Results for March 2011 and FY 2011 (Flash report)
OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2011. March 2011 Production. Due to the production suspension affected by the major earthquake in northeastern Japan, the domestic production for March decreased sixth consecutive month year-on-year. In spite of the ovearseas production set an all-time March record, the global production decreased for the first time in seventeen months year-on-year.
<FY 2011>
The domestic production of passenger cars for the period April 2010 through March 2011set an all-time record due to the increased production of Legacy, Forester and Impreza for ovearseas markets. Reflecting the strong sales of Legacy in North America, the ovearseas production set an all-time record, and the global production for the period April 2010 through March 2011 increased year-on-year for the first time in two years.
Sales in Japan
<March 2011>
Total domestic sales for March decreased for the sixth consecutive month year-on-year, due to the production suspention affected by the major earthquake in northeastern Japan.
<FY 2011>
In spite of the increased sales of Impreza and Forester in the first half of FY 2010, the total sales in Japan decreased for the sixth consecutive year year-on-year, due to the end of government "eco-car" support under subsidy system.
Export
<March 2011>
In spite of the increased export to Russia, total exports from Japan in March decreased for the first time in four months year-on-year, due to the production suspention affected by the major earthquake in northeastern Japan.
<FY 2011>
Total exports for the period April 2010 through March 2011 increased year-on-year for the first time in two years and set an all-time record, due to the increased exports of Forester and Legacy.
