OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2011. Supported by the Ministry of Economic Development representatives of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) paid a visit to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Within the framework of the visit AZPROMO representatives held meetings in the Ministry of Economic Development of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Chamber of Industry and Trade as well as Mayor of Ashgabat city.

During the meetings the existing economic relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, including trade-economic relations, investment and export opportunities and cooperation opportunities between the entrepreneurs of both countries were discussed. AZPROMO head Adil Mammadov in his turn provided information on recent socio-economic achievements of Azerbaijan, briefing the Turkmen colleagues on favourable business and investment climate in Azerbaijan.

AZPROMO representatives were informed about regional programs, large-scale projects under implementation in Turkmenistan, "AVAZA" tourist zone as well as Azerbaijani companies operating in the country.

During the meeting opportunities on future cooperation as well as organization of National exhibitions in both Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as well as participation of local entrepreneurs in projects implemented in Turkmenistan were discussed.
