OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2011. Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced at a press conference today that on the 16th of April it will start operations from Vilnius, the airlines’ 14th operating base.

Wizz Air is initially deploying one Airbus A320 aircraft and opening 8 new routes to Cork (Ireland), London-Luton, Doncaster-Sheffield (UK) Eindhoven (The Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Rome-Fiumicino, Milan-Bergamo (Italy) and Stockholm Skavsta (Sweden).

All flights have been on sale at wizzair.com with fares starting from as low as LTL 78 one way, all inclusive.
"We have sold over 40,000 tickets for our Lithuanian routes prior to starting operations indicating strong demand for the Wizz low cost travel experience. Wizz has got to market leadership in the low cost airline sector in all the home markets where the airline operates bases which we aim at achieving in Lithuania too, going forward." - said Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
