Ukraine Changes List of Energy-Saving Items Exempted from Import Duty
OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2011. The Government has made changes to the list of energy-saving materials, equipment and components that are exempted from import duty and import to the operation of which to the customs territory of Ukraine are exempted from levy of value added tax. The decree is designed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and adopted at the session of Cabinet of Ministers.
The Resolution proposed to replace the separate headings of the List ("solar power system mounts" and "copper cable for the construction of solar power") to such that without changing their names composition changed.
The reason for drafting the resolution is application entities that import into the customs territory of Ukraine equipment for solar power stations, which are not produced in Ukraine.
Implementation of the resolution will contribute to the realization of strategic projects aimed at strengthening energy security and increase the competitiveness of domestic products.
In addition, construction of power plants that run on solar energy with a total installed capacity of 180 MW, significantly reduce the consumption of traditional energy. The substitution part of electricity produced using traditional energy to renewable will to achieve reduction in CO2 emissions of 258 102 tons per year.
