PM: Ukraine Economy Is Gradually Recovering
OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2011. Ukraine's economy, despite the instability of foreign markets is gradually restoring. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this today during the Government's session.
"Ukraine's economy, despite the instability of foreign markets and gradually restored. Thus, according to preliminary estimates of state statistics, the gross domestic product for the first quarter 2011 grew by more than 5% and industrial output growth accelerated to 12.8%, - told Mykola Azarov, highlighting significant - 27% - increasing production mechanical engineering.
Consequently, according to the Prime Minister it has been formed a high demand for cargo transport. Only by rail for the first quarter of this year were transported 15% more goods than in 2010.
Mykola Azarov also said that this year the restoration of the construction industry has been intensified. This is evidenced by growth of works with the completion of construction - 15%, construction works - by 9%, work to prepare construction sites - at 6%.
"I want to once again emphasize that the Government's task - not just to support the growth of construction and create conditions for the construction boom. This is the fulcrum for growth of our economy”, - the Prime Minister told.
