Rosmorport Introduced Strategy of Ports Infrastructure Development
OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2011. The FSUE “Rosmorport” General director Igor Rusu took part in the meeting of Saint Petersburg governor Marine Council, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.
During the meeting he introduced a Strategy of Russian Ports Infrastructure Development.
During his address he said that elaboration of the strategy of Russian Ports Infrastructure Development in the long view till 2030 will set development directions and network for the whole sphere and coordinate activity of certain participants, both state and business. He emphasized that to push forward Russian port sector services, formulation of basis sphere development precedence, mechanisms of aims achievement and their priorities is necessary.
According to the strategy, 5 major aims are defined to form internationally competitive seaports infrastructure:
1. provision of sufficient transshipment capacities;
2. achievement of seaports infrastructure development economical efficiency;
3. achievement of international competitiveness of Russian ports services;
4. provision of safe development and functioning of marine infrastructure and transport;
5. solutions of social goals for marine infrastructure development, environmental protection.
The strategy realization terms are divided into 3 stages:
short-term period (until 2015) – specific action plan;
mid-term period (until 2020) – formulation of strategic directions of marine infrastructure development;
long-term period (until 2030) - formulation of strategic directions of marine infrastructure development;
The strategy’s special feature is its coordination with basic strategic documents of government institution and big businesses.
