Akulov addressed the integration of Russian routes into the European tourist space: "One example of entering the European market in the night train segment is the new long-distance service between Moscow and Nice, which runs once a week. The service began in September 2010 and since then has carried some 2,000 passengers," said Akulov.

He added that the Company also plans to launch a new service connecting Moscow - Berlin - Paris and whose timetable would enable passengers to depart from Moscow in the morning and arrive in Paris the next evening after spending just one night on board.

In addition, Akulov said that Russian Railways plans to start international services using the Talgo train.

"We are considering the possibility of running of such trains between Moscow - Berlin and Moscow - Kiev, as well between other cities, such as Moscow - Prague," said Akulov.
