OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2011. It passed a decree, establishing the lack of competition in the natural gas market, given the fact that gas is imported to Moldova from one source by the only supplier – Moldovagaz company, and there are currently no alternative sources and suppliers for natural gas import.

The Moldovan-Russian enterprise Moldovagaz was established in 1999. Its authorized capital amounts to 1.33 billion leis.

The company’s biggest shareholders are the Gazprom (50% of shares), the Moldovan Government (35.33%) and the Transnistrian administration (13.44%). As it was reported earlier, Moldova started purchasing natural gas from Gasprim on January 1, 2011 at the average European prices without a reducing coefficient.
