OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2011. The EU is ready to provide the EUR 7 million financial aid to Moldova in 2012-2013 to implement pilot regional development programs. It was said at the meeting of the Minister of Regional Development and Construction of Moldova Marcell Raducan with representatives of the Directorate General for Regional Policy of the European Commission, Directorate General for Development and Cooperation, the Foreign Actions Service for Moldova and representatives of the EU delegation in Moldova.

It was said that the pilot regional development programs would be implemented within the policy of collaboration with the EU. The EU’s representatives said the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction of Moldova is to identify the main principles of implementation of these programs and the regions, where they will be realized, until June 2011.

Moldova will be financing implementation of the programs in the proportion of about USD 15-50. The EU is ready to help Moldova not only by providing financial assistance, but also by organizing theme workshops, teaching visits, sharing experience in the regional development. Marcel Raducan said it is important to implement the pilot regional development programs in the context of realization of Moldova’s European integration goals.
