OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2011. PwC staff visited the Higher School of Economics in Nizhny Novgorod. There they gave a presentation about the firm and held the first stages of the competitive selection process for audit vacancies at the PwC Russia office in Moscow and at PwC Cyprus, reported the press-centre of PwC.

The presentation gave fourth and fifth year students a great deal of information about working at the firm, as well as the career opportunities, continued education programmes, bonuses and advantages PwC offers.

Afterward, about 100 students chose to participate in the selection process, which included testing their knowledge of English and the basics of Russian Accounting Standards, as well as their critical thinking skills and ability to work in a team. Fourteen students were invited to the next round of interviews at the Moscow office of PwC Russia.

Kirill Shiryaev, head of graduate recruitment at PwC, said:
“First of all, we want to thank HSE’s staff, particularly Vice Dean of the Economics Faculty Ekaterina Suchkova, for their help in organising and running such a large event, as well as the graduates for demonstrating their superior knowledge of their fields. Once again, HSE has proven itself to be one of Russia’s top universities. Special thanks go to the fourth and fifth year students for their interest. We’ll be meeting with you at the presentation and interviews to be held at the end of the year, and will be offering you some of the vacant positions at the firm.”

Daria Starokozheva, also from graduate recruitment at PwC, added:
“PwC is always glad to have events at the HSE campuses in Moscow, Perm and Nizhny Novgorod. And this has been no exception. I’d like to point out how well the students and graduates had prepared in terms of English and accounting. And it’s always so nice to meet graduates and students who know exactly what they want in life and are ready to pursue it. It’s especially impressive when your whole audience is made up of people like that. We will definitely be coming back to HSE at the end of the year.”

PwC’s next visit to HSE in Nizhny Novgorod is planned for the end of autumn/beginning of winter.
