SEB Appointed Director of Marketing and Communications Division
OREANDA-NEWS. Taking up the post of director of SEB’s Marketing and Communications Division from 2 May 2011 will be Kristjan Seema, who is currently the manager of the marketing team at Tele2 Eesti, reported the press-centre of SEB.
“With Kristjan in charge the Tele2 brand made the same kind of breakthrough in the telecommunications field last year as SEB made in banking – overtaking the market leader and becoming the most popular brand* out there,” explained Eerika Vaikmae-Koit, head of SEB’s Retail Banking and Technology Division. “His experience in the service sector and the results he’s achieved in developing the Tele2 brand made him the perfect candidate in terms of who’s best placed to maintain SEB’s position as market leader.”
Seema says that managing marketing and communications activities in SEB will be a challenge that requires true dedication. “SEB has a really strong marketing team – they’ve won pretty much every marketing award possible over the last few years,” he said. “They’ve set the bar very high, so I’ll be doing my best to live up to it!”
Seema joined Tele2 in 1997 and has spent the last six years working as its director of marketing. In 2008 he was awarded the title of Marketing Manager of the Year. “Tele2’s managed to put together a very professional and very close-knit marketing team,” he said, “which of course makes it hard to leave, but that said I don’t have any doubt they’ll continue to be just as successful in future.”
The former director of SEB’s Marketing and Communications Division, Karl Multer, took up the post of director of marketing and communications for the Baltic States in March.
