OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2011. Airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) enlarged the park of apron equipment in the frame of the ground handling equipment modernization program.

JSC Airport Tolmachevo has bought a multifunctional machine - tractor Valtra –161 eqipped with snow-removal device RLS –39.  Tractor Valtra –161 is a special airdrome unit, designed to clean aero-dynamical lights of the runways in winter season.

The technical characteristics of this equipment permit to remove snow from the runway’s approaching lights during 40 minutes.  The cleaning of lights before was made in hand mode.

Tractors manufactured in Finland Valtra –161 with different mounted equipment are used at such airports as Saint-Petersburg (Pulkovo), Moscow (Vnukovo), Arkhangelsk (Talagy) (), Helsinki (Vantaa).

In prospect the management of the airport is planning to purchase different mounted equipment (ploughs, graders, lawn-mowers), which will make tractor Valtra –161 a multi-purpose device, able to lighten the work of the enterprise’s airdrome service.

Note: Tractors Valtra are assembled in the city Soulahty (Finland) at one of the most modern plants in the industry, and since 1960 the tractors have been manufactured in Brazil at the plant Mogi das Cruzes.  Presently these tractors are being sold in 75 countries worldwide.  Tractors Valtra are designed according to an individual order and each of them is unique and manufactured according to the customer’s request.
