OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) finalized a case on violating the antimonopoly law on the market of vanadium-containing iron ore raw materials (pellets and aglomerate) and found that “Vanadii” Mining-and-Processing Intergrated Works of Kachkanar” OJSC violated Clauses1 and 6 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

“Vanadii” Mining-and-Processing Intergrated Works of Kachkanar” OJSC develops “Gusevogorskoye” field of impregnated vanadium-containing tiano- black iron ore and is the only producer of vanadium-containing iron ore raw materials in the Russian Federation controlling 100% of the market.

“Vanadii” Mining-and-Processing Intergrated Works of Kachkanar” OJSC violated the law by fixing different prices for domestic consumers, that were not economically, technologically or otherwise justified, and fixing and maintaining monopolistically high prices for vanadium-containing iron ore raw materials, which led to restricting competition on adjacent markets.
