OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2011. Executive-level officers of competition authorities gathered for the annual meeting in Budapest (the Republic of Hungary) to discuss the programme of OECD – Hungary Regional Competition Centre for the forthcoming years and evaluate efficiency of the workshops organised for members of staff of competition authorities. FAS Russia was represented by Yekaterina Belousova, the Head of the FAS Russia’s Public Service Department, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) takes part on a regular basis in the workshops organised by OECD – Hungary Regional Competition Centre in order to exchange experience and obtain the most up-do-date information about competition enforcement abroad.

At the meeting participants considered and approved the projects of the Centre for the near future, the programme of cooperation between competition authorities within the framework of the Centre’s activities, and methods for evaluating how efficient the knowledge and skills obtained by workshop participants is for their subsequent work.

“In 2010 FAS Russia jointly with OECD – Hungary Regional Competition Centre for the first time organised a workshop on antimonopoly regulation of retial for officers of competition authorities of the CIS member-states, which was quite successful. As for our main objective of the annual meeting, we endeavoured to discuss and approve the most pressing and prospective themes that can form the basis of the training programmes offered by the Centre in the forthcoming years”, said Yekaterina Belousova, the Head of the FAS Russia’s Public Service Department.
