OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2011. Transaero Airlines’ summer schedule in 2011 offers flights on 130 routes, another milestone for the airline confirming its stable development. This year the company plans to nearly double the number of flights and increase by 30% of the number of routes served from Sheremetyevo International Airport in comparison with last year’s summer schedule.

Transaero's plans for the summer of 2011 demonstrate the airline's intention to further expand its route network and increase traffic volumes. Transaero Airlines will continue strengthening its position in all key market segments, including business as well as popular tourist destinations both within Russia and abroad. Long-haul flights are also one of the top priorities for the company in the upcoming summer period. Even now nearly 80% Transaero passengers fly on long-haul wide-body aircraft which account for the majority of the company’s fleet.

One of the specific features of the summer timetable will be the continuing increase of traffic volumes from St. Petersburg and other Russian regions. Transaero is a key participant in the Russian Federal program for subsidized transportation to and from the Russian Far East. The airline offers subsidies on 13 routes, more than any other program participant. Transaero will also increase the frequency and passenger capacity on routes to the Russian Far East by operating flights with Boeing 777 and Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Transaero is striving to further increase passenger volumes to China. Transaero’s 2011 summer timetable establishes five flights a week to Beijing and the launch of additional flights from St. Petersburg the capital of China.

In another milestone achievement, Transaero's summer timetable will include its services to New-York and Miami. While expanding service to Europe and the CIS, Transaero will increase traffic volumes to Germany and Ukraine.

Transaero Airlines plans to add 12 aircraft to its fleet this year, including six Boeing 747-400s, two Boeing 777-300s, one Boeing 767 and three Boeing 737s.
