OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. The justice of peace A. V. Us, acting justice of peace of the judicial district No. 8 of Chelyabinsk Central District, passed a verdict with respect to A. N. Ruzavin, pronouncing him guilty of offences envisaged by Part 1 Art. 160 of RF Criminal Code, with seven episodes of misappropriation of property entrusted to him.

A. N. Ruzavin worked as an insurance agent on the basis of an agreement with the Chelyabinsk branch of Ingosstrakh OJSIC. According to the agreement, he had to execute insurance policies and receive funds from citizens for the services provided by the insurance company. However, Ruzavin did not pass the funds obtained (insurance premium) to the insurance company’s cash office, and misappropriated them instead.

On 29.09.2009 a customer applied to the branch with an insurance event that happened to his car. The examination revealed that the insurance premium for the policy of this insured did not reach the accountants’ office of Ingosstrakh OJSIC. A. N. Ruzavin was the agent under this insurance agreement. It was found that it was not the only case of company’s funds theft on his part. It was established that in total A. N. Ruzavin misappropriated 86 720 rubles of insurance premiums.

On the ground of the application submitted by the Department of Analysis and Protection of Information of Ingosstrakh OJSIC, the Department of Internal Affairs in Chelyabinsk initiated criminal proceedings in respect of A. N. Ruzavin. The company employees assisted the investigation and also ensured timely and full consulting in specific insurance matters.

The court brought a verdict of conviction with respect to A. N. Ruzavin and gave him a suspended sentence of 1-year imprisonment. The material damage, done by the defrauder to the insurance company will be collected through enforcement proceedings by receivers.
