AIB Reports on Growing Volume of Money Transfer Operations
OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. The volume of transfer operations through the “Contact”, “CoinStar”, “Xpress Money”, “ABB Express”, “Blizko” and “Western Union” urgent money transfer systems applied in the Azerbaijani International Bank (AIB) totalled 13,194 mln mantas in January-February 2011. A source at the bank told APA-Economics that of this volume, 11,905 m manats fell to share of money transfer operations from abroad to Azerbaijan and 1,290 mln manats to share of the operations from Azerbaijan to abroad, reported the press-centre of AIB.
In all, the volume of money transfer operations through the AIB equaled 104,882 mln manats in 2010. Of them, 96,963 mln manats or 92,1 per cent are transfer operations carried out from broad to the country and 8,318 mln manats or 7,9 per cent are those carried out from the country to abroad.
To remind, compared to 2009, all money transfer operations increased by 20,1 per cent, incoming money transfer operations by 18,9 per cent and remitted money transfer operations by 36,4 per cent.
