Baku Hosted Azerbaijan-Jordan Business Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2011. Azerbaijan-Jordan Business Forum held in Baku Business Centre within the framework of 2nd meeting of Intergovernmental Commission between the two countries supported by the Ministry of Economic Development, organized by AZPROMO and Jordan Entreprise Development Center (JEDCO).
Alongside with the officials about 50 entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan and Jordan participated in the forum. Speaking at the forum Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev mentioned the basis of socio-economic development strategy of Azerbaijan founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan HE Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about business cooperation between Azerbaijan and Jordan Minister Sh. Mustafayev pointed to the untapped potential in the development of these relations. He further mentioned, that Jordan businessmen are welcome to enjoy the favourable business and investment climate created in the country, especially in the non-oil sector.
Minister of Industry and Trade of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani Mulki addressed the forum participants speaking on the importance of cooperation between the entrepreneurs of the two countries.
Further AZPROMO President Adil Mammadov presented business and investment opportunities in the country. In his speech JEDCO CEO Yarub Gudah mentioned about interest on the part of Jordanian entrepreneurs to the Azerbaijani economy, especially in the non-oil sector.
Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company Afgan Isayev presented the company and the projects under the implementation. Jordanian side presentations included Jordan Construction Association speaker Eng. Abbad Sbitan and Jordan Architects and Engineering Council speaker Eng. Hamzah Awwad. One of the biggest construction projects in Azerbaijan - White City was presented by its representative Fuad Verdiyev. The official part was followed by the bilateral meetings between the entrepreneurs of the two countries. A Memorandum of Understanding between the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations and Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed during the forum.
