OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2011. HRT Participacoes em Petroleo S.A. (the “Company” or “HRT”), announces the acquisition commenced on the 1,232 km2 3D seismic program over HRT’s operated offshore block 2813A in Orange Basin, as seen in the image attached hereto. This survey is being conducted by the Polarcus Samur vessel concurrently with UNX’s 1,428 km2 program over their operated offshore and adjacent blocks 2713A and 2713B. With the strategic alliance between HRT and UNX, the combined programs will represent an additional 2,660 km2 of 3D seismic to be acquired by a second vessel this shooting season in the South Atlantic.

This relevant 3D seismic acquisition allows us an in-depth view of rift and drift sequences, which is critical to advance exploration and leads to the drilling stage. This program considerably advances and exceeds our minimum work program commitment to acquire 500 km2 of 3D seismic prior to May 2014 in this block where HRT has a 40% exploratory interest.
