BERIS Completes Largest Waste Water Treatment Plant Design
OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. The structural design for the Sewage Treatment Plant of Yichang Three Gorges Quantong Colored and Galvanized Plate Co., Ltd. was fulfilled by BERIS Engineering & Research Corp. (BERIS) recently. This facility is a part of the 2nd phase of deep-processing project for extremely-thin coating/plated board (with an annual processing volume of 8 million tons), and it will also used for partial sewage treatment of the 1st phase project (with an annual processing volume of 3 million tons). And this plant is deemed to be the worldwide largest waster water treatment station for industrial cold-rolling operation, reported the press-centre of MCC.
In terms of technical process, the industrial sewage is more complicated for treatment than living sewage, and thus brings about greater difficulties for the structure design. This task is featured by large volume for work, complicated space structure for almost all the building and limited construction period. In this view, BERIS has taken quite a few efficient measures for completion of the task on a timely and quality basis. First of all, BERIS divided the overall works into several structural units as per the technical requirements.
And then the expansion joints were designed in accordance with the requirements of both the specifications/standards and the technical process. For any structures, in case that no expansion joints are allowed by the technical process, BERIS has successfully meet the technical demand by casting reinforcing band respectively after increasing settlement, shrinkage and temperature adjustment.
The structure design for this worldwide largest waster water treatment station for industrial cold-rolling operation has been proved to be reasonable and scientific under the 1st phase of the project. The structural design is deemed to be economic and safe for application with advanced technologies, and fully meet the demands of both the technical process and the employer. It has not only obtained a high premium from the employer, but also accumulated more experiences for the similar works and further enhanced the comprehensive power of BERIS in terms of structural design.
