11 Cruises Visited Shanghai in March
OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. The luxury cruise Nautica (registered in Marshall Islands) gently arrived at Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal in the morning of 6th March, which raised the curtain of the cruise tourism peak in Shanghai. She was the first luxury cruise ship berthed at International Cruise Terminal in March, and was also her first visit to Shanghai in 2011, reported the press-centre of Shanghai Port.
Built in 1998, Nautica is a luxury cruise ship of Oceania Cruises and one of the youngest ships of the fleet. The cruise ship is 167.55m long, 25.46m beam with 30277 gross tonnages and 11481 net tonnages. She has 9 decks and the amenities onboard are all available such as 5-star standard restaurants, bars, pools and gyms, etc., making it as a floating resort. Nautica sailed from Japan with over 1000 passengers and crew, mainly European and American people. During her stay in Shanghai, the tourists were organized to visit the scenic spots such as Chenghuang Temple, Jade Buddha Temple, Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Financial Trade Zone of Lujiazui Area and took the maglev train. This cruise departed from Shanghai at 15:00 March 7th, and sailed to the next destination— South Korea.
According to the latest news, 11luxury cruise ships with 35,000 passengers, including Legend of the Seas, Nautica, Diamond Princess, Le Diamant, Queen MaryII, Azamara Quest, Princess Daphne, Sun Princess, Dana Princess, Seven Seas Voyager, Explorer etc, had totally 31 voyages calling at Port of Shanghai, with the same high level of passenger volume as in 2010 Expo.
