Moldovan Power Regulating Agency Plans to Approve New Tariffs
OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. It was said by the Director General of the National Power Regulating Agency Victor Parlicov. He said the respective meeting may be held on Tuesday. He said there are objective reasons for raising the fees – the rise in the purchasing price for electric power starting from April 11 by 11% - from 5.5 to 6.1 cents for a kilowatt-hour.
However, there are also reserves as regards inclusion of the enterprise’s investments, profitability level, salary fund and other expenses into the tariff. The Agency’s Director General said heads of the RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest had changed their proposals regarding the new tariff as early as at the meeting.
Particularly, the RED Nord company is asking the Agency to raise the tariff already not to 1.52 leis, but to 1.51 leis for a kilowatt-hour, and the RED Nord-Vest company asks for the increase to 1.6 leis instead of the previous 1.64 leis for a kilowatt-hour. Only RED Union Fenosa left the request on the same level and asks to increase the tariffs for electric power for final consumers by 9% - by 12 bani – from 1.33 to 1.45 leis for a kilowatt-hour.
The Agency’s Head explained it by RED Union Fenosa’s rich experience, including the international one, in development and presentation of the fee rise suggestions, to which the Agency has less questions than to the RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest documents.
