OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has convinced that the fiscal deficit this year will not exceed 2,5%. He said this during a meeting with the Deputy Assistant Secretary Department of Treasury of the USA  Christopher Smart.

"We finished 2010 with a gain of more than 4% of GDP, the budget deficit we reduced to 5,5%. We are passing the first quarter of this year with a surplus, and therefore we have no doubt that the annual budget deficit this year will be roughly 2.5%, not more ", - Mykola Azarov emphasized. He recalled that in 2009 the decline in GDP was 15% and state budget deficit reached 16%.

The Prime Minister stressed that overall annual forecasts for Ukraine are optimistic, although there are serious challenges and problems associated with rising world oil prices and the food. He said the government will make every effort to reduce their negative impact on the economy of Ukraine.
