OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. First meetings of regional councils for interaction with suppliers and contractors were held in key regions of TNK-BP activities. Regional councils were first created last year in the framework of the new policy of interaction with contractors and suppliers, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

This policy implies creation of conditions conducive to interaction and communication between TNK-BP and its contractors and development of an open, transparent and comfortable environment for business.

The meetings of regional councils were participated by top managements of the company and representatives of several dozens of contractors. Participants of the meetings discussed various aspects and issues related to the contracting principles of the company, including pre-qualification of contractors, the TNK-BP’s permanent partner status, and mechanisms for selection of suppliers and contractors to regional councils.

The achievements of the conflict resolution commissions working in the regions of TNK-BP presence since December 2010 were also discussed at the meetings. The purpose of conflict resolution commissions is objective consideration and analysis of complaints and grievances of contractors and provision of recommendations on them. Since the beginning of work of conflict resolution commissions, 13 complaints were considered and 6 of them resolved in contractors’ favor.

“We are glad that our contractors appreciate TNK-BP’s initiatives and are actively working for development of our interaction and cooperation,” said Anatoly Tyomkin, Executive Vice President, Support Services, TNK-BP. “The efforts and results of regional councils and conflict resolution commissions emphasize the company’s striving to transparency of relations with our business partners and accessibility of forums for our contractors.”
