OREANDA-NEWS. April 8, 2011. A delegation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany led by President of the Landtag of Saxony Mr. Matthias Rosler is on a visit to Turkmenistan these days.

During the visit the guests were received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mejlis, where a keen exchange of views on various aspects and the prospects for successful multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany took place.

During the meeting the guests were briefed on the key priorities of the domestic and foreign policies of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen leader’s constructive, peace-building initiatives that had earned recognition of the international community. It was noted that the open door policy and the strategy for wide international cooperation, the readiness of our country for an open, active dialogue contributed to the full extent to intensifying long-term friendly and fruitful collaboration between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany and strengthening contacts in various fields, including the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Putting emphasis on the existing profound potential to further long-term bilateral partnerships, the meeting participants expressed the mutual willingness to step up mutually beneficial Turkmen-German relationships, including contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the Parliament of Turkmenistan and the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the visit the German delegation held the talks at the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The versatile visit programme had been prepared for the foreign guests. The members of the German delegation will visit the largest museums of Ashgabat and historical and archeological monuments in our country.
