OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2011. RED Union Fenosa company is asking the National Power Regulating Agency to raise tariffs for electric power for final consumers by 9% or by 12 bani – to 1.45 leis for a kilowhatt-hour. For the same reason, RED Nord company is asking the Agency to raise the tariff by 10 bani – to 1.53 leis, and the RED Nord –Vest company wants the fee to be increased by 22 bani – to 1.64 leis. Now a kilowatt-hour of electric power for final consumers served by the RED Union Fenosa company costs 1.33 leis, and the tariff for the RED Nord and RED Nord – Vest amounts to 1.43 leis.

It is planned that on Friday, April 8, the Agency will hold public hearings regarding the adjustment of the tariffs for electricity for final consumers with all operators participating. Representatives of the Government, patronages, trade unions, consumers rights protection associations will attend the meeting. The last rise in electricity fees in Moldova took place in January 2010.
