OREANDA-NEWS. April 7, 2011. Renaissance Group, the emerging markets investment firm, announces that Rob Reid has been appointed Country Head of Zimbabwe and Zambia. In this new role at the Firm, Mr. Reid will be based in Harare and oversee the expansion of all Group business in Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mr. Reid will continue with his responsibilities for the Renaissance Partners African portfolio, which includes a number of high opportunity land and natural resources investments on the continent. Mr. Reid joined Renaissance Group in 2006 and sits on the Firm’s Africa management board.

“Rob’s appointment comes at a time when we see significant growth opportunities in the Zimbabwe and Zambian markets, as evidenced by Renaissance’s advisory role on the recently closed sale of Zisco to Essar and the Group’s land investments in Zambia and Zimbabwe,” said Chris Baxter, CEO of Renaissance Partners.
