OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2011. The Complex for education, healthcare, social protection, information systems and telecommunications of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held a session to consider the socioeconomic development of the sector in the first quarter of 2011.

In the first quarter, the complex organizations and enterprises produced goods and provided services for a total of UZS 712.9 billion. The increase made up 19.6% compared to same period of last year.

The volume of services provided to the population made up UZS 309.8 billion (+9.5%).

USD 36.9 million were used for implementation the projects included in the investment program, which is 55.8% more than forecasted.

The session participants considered issues of employment of graduates of professional colleges, and improving online government services in the framework of the State program “Year of small business and private entrepreneurship”.

Other discussed issues included expanding prospects for private entrepreneurs in the pharmaceutical industry, implementation of projects in the field of children’s sports, creation and reconstruction of children’s playgrounds in residential areas, and attracting more young people to the sports.
