OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2011. It grew USD 25.08 million (18.5%) in comparison with the same period last year. Particularly, the volume of transfers in February 2011 totaled USD 88.96 million, exceeding the volume of transfers in February last year (USD 72.45 million) by USD 16.51 million (22.8%), according to the National Bank of Moldova. USD \\\\$136.06 million (84.6%) of the total amount of transfers in January-February 2011 were received through different quick money transfer systems.

About 48.3% of the currency transfers in February 2011 fell to the share of USD, 41.1% - euro, 10.6% - Russian ruble. As it was reported earlier, the volume of money transfers to Moldova from natural persons from abroad through commercial banks in 2010 totaled USD 1,244.14 million, up USD 62.12 million (5.3%) from 2009.

About USD 1 billion 72.24 million (86.2% of the total amount of transfers for this period) were received through different quick money orders system. The volume of money orders to Moldova in the first quarter of 2010 totaled USD 233.31 million, second quarter - USD 301.84 million, third - USD 361.05 million, fourth - USD 347.94 million. The biggest monthly amount of transfers last year was reported in September - USD 132.91 million, the least – in January – USD 63.21 million.
