Dr.Web Reports Desktop Security Suite 6.0 Agent Error
OREANDA-NEWS. April 6, 2011. Doctor Web reports that due to an error on April 5, 2011 from 14:30 to 17:00 GMT Dr.Web AV-Desk components were available as updates for Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite 6.0. At 17:00 GMT they were replaced with relevant Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite components; however, the agent service wouldn't launch (the anti-virus reported agent components updating error) on machines that managed to update the anti-virus software before that time.
Currently agent operation can be restored with the esavd_repair.exe utility. If the agent service will not start, administrators of Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite 6.0 should follow these steps:
Update the server repository to the latest version.
Change the server parameters (in the web interface select Administration — Configure Enterprise Server — General), enable the Reset unauthorized to newbie and Approve access manually options."
Launch the esavd_repair.exe utility with administrative privileges on the computer with the agent installed.
Check if the agent has appeared on the Unapproved stations list in the web-interface.
Authorize the agent on the server.
Use the web interface to remove the old station entry.
