Uzbekistan Considered Use of IT in State Bodies
OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2011. Representatives of state committees, departments and agencies took part in the seminar on development of information technologies in the state administration system. The event was organized at UZINFOCOM, IT development center, with assistance of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information.
The participants could get acquainted with the new trends in development of modern information technologies in public administration both in Uzbekistan and abroad.
“Use of modern information technologies in government agencies improves the effectiveness of management and cooperation among state authorities, citizens and entrepreneurs, and ensures information openness,” head of GOV.uz government portal support and development group Olimjon Umarov said.
The development of the IT industry has a strategic importance for Uzbekistan. Today, it is impossible to imagine the life without information technologies, Internet and cellular communication.
Considering the importance of modern information technologies in economic development, improvement of management, and enabling close collaboration between the government and the citizens, IT development has been set as one of priority directions of the state policy.
Issues of government websites as a key elements in formation of IT in public administration, development of interactive services, as well as experience of successful implementation of information technologies in e-government in foreign countries were considered at the seminar.
