Komienergo Will Invest RUB 6 Billion in Development of Grid Complex

The meeting, dedicated to the security of energy supply was held in Komi republic. Deputy Head of the Komi republic, Constantine Romadanov, responsible for the energy issues in the region, headed the meeting.
The leaders of energy companies have presented their investment programs until 2015.
Ivan Medvedev, the director of “Komienergo” reported on the perspectives of power grid facilities’ development in the region. He noted that today the development of production and growth of requirements for the living conditions of the population of the Komi Republic are the determining factors in improving the quality of electricity supply and operation of distribution networks.
Now, the "bottlenecks" in the power complex of “Komienergo” are the presence of one-transformer substations of 35 kV and above (43 units) Isolated "dead end" lines of 110 kV (15 units with total length of 860 km) and long single lines 6-10 kV (230 units with total length of 8.5 thousand km).
Along-term investment program until 2015 was created to solve these problems.
Also during the 5-years period it is planned to construct three new substations of 110 kV with capacity of 66 MVA, to reconstruct and re-equip another 6 substations, construct 97 km of lines 6-10 kV. Total investments in new construction, reconstruction and technical re-equipment in the period 2011-2015 will amount to 6 billion rubles.
Following the meeting of Staff to all the participants were asked again carefully review their investment, further develop, coordinate them with interested parties, and until April 8 to submit proposals to the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Kazakhstan.
