OREANDA-NEWS. April 5, 2011. OJSC Uralkali (“Uralkali”) has received official notification of the OJSC TGK-9 (“TGK-9”) indemnity claim, filed with the Perm Territory Arbitrazh (Commercial) Court. TGK-9 seeks for 2,7 bln rubles compensation of damages.

TGK-9 claims relate to the expenditure refund for the management of the consequences of the accident occurred at Uralkali Mine 1 in 2006. In 2009 the Russian Mining Safety Watchdog, Rostekhnadzor commission has concluded the cause of the accident was a combination of geological and technological factors.

Uralkali believe claims filed by TGK-9 are entirely without merit and intend to contest them vigorously.
