OREANDA-NEWS. April 5, 2011. Belarusian Potash Company will increase its potash prices for Brazilian consumers in May 2011 to USD 520 per tonne for large consumers and USD 525 per tonne for medium-sized consumers, the company said in a press release.

Three vessels with 30,000-35,000 tonnes of potash each will be dispatched to Brazil

BPC attributes the increase in prices to the unprecedented demand for potash, increase in prices for major crops and limited potash inventories of fertilizer makers.

BPC is certain the fundamental characteristics of the market will support the global demand throughout 2011.

BPC, headquartered in Minsk, is the exclusive exporter of potash fertilizers produced by OJSC Uralkali and OJSC Belaruskali. The two companies hold respective stakes of 50% and 45% in BPC, and Belarusian Railway controls 5%.
