OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2011. TNK-BP has moved to a unified system of long-term pre-qualification for suppliers and contractors as part of the company’s goal to increase business efficiency and transparency, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

TNK-BP is a major purchaser of Russian goods and services with an annual procurement budget of around 180 bln rubles. Continuously improving contracting processes and introducing world best practices in cooperation with its partners guarantees TNK-BP effective cost control.

The unified pre-qualification system will involve creating a centralized list of suppliers and contractors who have undergone the pre-qualification process. As a result, when a company is pre-qualified with one subsidiary, depending on the type of transaction, it can take part in tenders with other subsidiaries without having to repeat the preliminary qualification process.

Olga Malishkina, Vice President of Supply Chain Management, commented:
“Moving to a unified partner pre-qualification system is an important step in improving TNK-BP’s interaction with suppliers and contractors. The main goal of these changes is to enable the company to more effectively carry out its core principles of quality, safety and zero-tolerance of corruption.”

The unified database of suppliers and contractors who have undergone the pre-qualification process can be found on the TNK-BP website at http://www.tnk-bp.ru/procurement/prequalification/
