OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2011. SSC tires service centers at the filling stations TATNEFT have performed grooving of tire treads for Aznakaevo, Urussy and Tuimazy passenger transport enterprises and Bugulminsky UTT (heavy transport administration). The first lot of solid steel cord tires has been restored in the service center at filling station No. 5 of Bavly branch of Tatneft-AZS Center, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The SSC tire differs from traditional truck tires in the way that unlike the usual tires the SSC tires have the wire frame both in the carcass and the breaker (part of the tire, which is located between the carcass and the tread). The design of the tire is such that by the time the factory tread wears out, the tire carcass maintains the condition of nearly new as a result of applying the rigid and durable steel cord. When the tread wears out to a critical thickness it can be restored by re-grooving and replacement of the tread layer.

Totally 13 service centers have been put into operation: eight in Moscow region and one in Naberezhnye Chelny and one in Almetyevsk, as well as on highway M-7 near Kazan, Bavly and in Kozlov district of Chuvashia to provide full range of tire services for a new generation of tires on the basis of TATNEFT's filling stations.

New tires are used on trucks, buses and long-haul pull tractors of increased load capacity. Application of SSC tires increases the load capacity by 8% and reduces fuel consumption by 15%, while the tire life is increased to 500 thousand kilometers as a result of possible triple tire retreading.
